The jazz singer rocks out

September 30, 2008

It is always a pleasure to work with the beautiful Rach Thoms. This weekend was no exception where we performed for an audience of around 300 at the Anson Street School Ball.

This gig was a fund-raiser for a much needed new bus for the school, whose students are people with developmental disabilities.

Featuring Rach, Myself, Mark Furze, Travis New and Michelle Vincent the band sounded great and the evening was heralded as a huge success.

Rach stepped outside her usual role of sultry jazz schmoozer and sung Pat Benetar, ACDC and PINK to name a few. (shhhhhh, don’t tell Vince)

Can’t wait for the next one with Rach, but it’s not till December :(

Beno and Kyle have been updating their song list, and have included some great new songs in the set. You can actually request a song from the list on Thursday nights, so you feel all special.

Alternatively, Beno and Kyle are happy for you to put money directly in them…….

Welcome

September 23, 2008

I have spent the best part of my life living and breathing music. Started plucking out tunes on the piano at the age of 5, and it all developed from there. These days I’m not just a piano player but a singer, electric bass player, MD (that’s musical director - not doctor), songwriter and vocal coach. Its is an obsession which has thankfully become a successful career. OK, along the way there have been times when the occasional “day job” has distracted me from the path, but I guess every muso tells the same story.

I perform and teach many styles of contemporary music, from jazz piano to country bass guitar and just about everything in between.

Thank you for visiting my website. You should find everything you need to know about me musically, hear some sound clips and see some video clips from both live and studio playing and singing.

Oh, and DJ’s are not rockstars!!

the pen is mighty, Logic is mightier!

September 23, 2008

I have been frantic in the studio over the last couple of weeks, writing songs for Falcon Road, Holly Amber and the Badge, and just for plain old me!!

Travis New and I have been collaborating on some songs for Falcon Road, and there is some promising stuff in the pipeline.

As a mac user it made sense to use Logic as my choice of studio software, and it has become an incredible tool for composing, arranging and communicating musical ideas to fellow band members hundreds of kilometres away.

I will be updating this area with new songs all the time. Everyone’s input is welcome……..

video shoot

September 23, 2008

Life is hectic at the mo in the Falcon Road camp. We’re gearing up to shoot our first ever music video on October 5.

Furzey is thrashing out the final theme of the clip with the camera and visual crew, but it looks like being shot in a paper factory with the band rockin out  in an industrial setting.

Keep viewing this blog to find out how you can be involved!
