Falcon Road entertain Aussie Troops in East Timor

Well here’s something I didn’t think I’d do. Travel overseas to entertain our troops serving in active duty. However, as luck would have it Falcon Road were given the amazing opportunity to head to East Timor for a week to do just that.

I was prodded with plenty of needles to avoid catching some nasty (and I mean nasty) diseases that are on offer over there. I packed my military strength insect repellant and jar of Vegemite to stave off the mozzies (apparently vitamin B does that?!) and jumped on a plane with Mish, Trav and Mark to do some rockin shows!

We did six shows and were transported around in Blackhawk Helicopters and Armoured Personnel Carriers. WAY COOL! We were joined by Wallaby Adam Freier, Gladiators Destiny and Amazon and comedian Matt Hardy. The boys and girls that make up the 650 Aussie peacekeepers over there loved the shows, and I’d go back and do it again in a heartbeat!

We’re excited about the next phase for Falcon Road, and have been busily rehearsing and writing new material for the show. 

My Crazy May

When I sat down to plan the merry month of May, I realised just how crazy life is at the moment!

During May I’ll be doing shows in four states of this great country, as well as travelling to East Timor to entertain the troops.

Its an exciting time for me, and apart from missing my beautiful family while I’m away, I’m eagerly looking forward to some once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.

With Jasmine Rae I’ll be performing to tens of thousands of people on some of Australia’s biggest stages - Perth Superdome and Brisbane Entertainment Centre, as part of the Brooks and Dunn 2009 Australian Tour.

With Falcon Road we’ll be taking up the incredible opportunity to boost the moral of our Aussie Troops in East Timor on the Forces Entertainment tour.

Falcon Road also have a show booked for Manly Fishos on May 22. Whew! See you in June!!

 

Brooks and Dunn ROCKED!

I can’t believe I was part of the Australian Tour, supporting legendary country rockers Brooks and Dunn! Yes, THE Brooks and Dunn.

As Jasmine’s faithful trio, Mish Trav and I were completely pumped, and took the stage at Perth Superdomeand Brisbane Entertainment Centre on the bill with Dierks Bently and Brooks and Dunn. 

This was a dream come true for me. I have been listening to these guys since I was a kid, an have a deep respect for their music, and for their incredible stage show - one of the best in country music worldwide.

It has been an incredible journey with Jasmine in 2009, from Tamworth in January, the amazing Size Matters Tour in March with Joe Nichols, Deana Carter and Steve Forde, CMC Rocks the Snowys and Rock The Mount in SA.

Ready To Rock the Mount!!

We’re very excited to be travelling to Melrose, SA for the CMC Rocks the Mount Festival on April 18. With just over a week to go we’re putting the finishing touches on the show and are itching to play!!

We’re sharing the stage with some incredible Aussie Country Artists including Lee Kernaghan and my good mates the Noll Brothers.

This should be a good warm up for the next round of Jasmine Rae gigs supporting the legendary Brooks and Dunn on their Australian tour.

I seriously hope the burgers are as good as they were at CMC Rocks the Snowys. Man, they were GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD.
