Melrose- here we come!
March 17, 2010
We’re excited about playing the Rock the Mount festival in Melrose again this year. It’s one hell of a trip but it’s worth it! We’ll be backing up the legendary Lee Kernaghan, who is headlining the festival.
Jasmine fans will be getting a very different set to last year, as we’ve spent an amazing year touring the length and breadth of Australia honing our show to some massive audiences.
Really excited about another trip South…..great people in Melrose ![]()
21st Birthday celebrations for THE MAD ARABS
March 17, 2010
Anyone who has lived around the Bathurst area over the last 20 or so years will probably have heard of The Mad Arabs. It has to be one of the town (and the region’s) longest running bands - formed in 1989.
I joined right at the end of 1990 and did my first shows with the boys in 1991. I’m not sure how they came up with the name - I think it was from a Cheech and Chong movie, but there is no disrespect for our Arab brothers that’s for sure.
The current line up is Gray Taylor (drums), AJ Proudford (guitar/vocals), Chris McCusker (bass) and myself, and this is how it has been for 19 years now! Wow time flies.
So next weekend we’re celebrating our 21st birthday with a double-header at Bathurst’s Shanahans Family Hotel on both Friday and Saturday (27th an 28th March).
Some of the songs haven’t changed in 21 years, but we play them differently every time. Come along and join in the fun.
Turning up the heat in Thredbo
March 1, 2010
This weekend we’re off to Thredbo with Jasmine Ray to play two gigs at the famous Thredbo Alpine Hotel.
We’re combining most of Jasmine’s original stuff from her ARIA nominated album LOOK IT UP with some rockin’ country and rock covers - there should be something for everyone!
We’ll be playing until late at the SCHUSS BAR as side shows to the CMC Rocks the Snowys Festival.
Last year we were on the big stage at CMC, but this year we’re looking forward to a lot of the artists and fans joining us for three rockin sets as we stay up late to party on!
Come and say G’Day ![]()
